“Out Loud! Kodiak, Fishing and the Sea”

in the Kodiak Auditorium, 7 pm Saturday,

Seven poets, writers, and musicians, all of them commercial fishermen, will present a three hour program of original poetry, stories, and songs about the lives of Alaskan mariners.

Kodiak Russian Balalaika Players

March 15, 2009 Russian Folk music performing at the Awards Banquet
The Kodiak Russian Balalaika Players began in 1973, providing music for the outdoor historical drama "Cry of the Wild Ram". It now performs year-round at community events and for groups of cruise ship passengers. Russian folk music is performed on balalaikas, domras and other instruments to entertain the audience.
