Thursday Attraction Tour - 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Tour of Ft. Knox Gold Mine and Poker Flat Research Range - The
Fort Knox Gold Mine is located about 25 miles northeast of Fairbanks. The open pit
mine operates year round employing 255 people. It contributes about $70 million to
the Fairbanks economy. Poker Flat Research Range is a scientific rocket launching
facility located approximately 30 miles north of Fairbanks and is operated by the
University of Alaska's Geophysical Institute under
contract to NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, which
is part of the Goddard Space Flight Center .
Lunch is on your own at the historic Chatanika Lodge. $30.00 transportation

Thursday Guided Library Tours - each tour is from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Tour of Public Libraries - Visit the Noel Wien Library in Fairbanks, the North Pole Branch Library, and the Ft. Wainwright Post Library. The tour is free, but registration is limited. (T-2)
- Tour of Special Libraries - Visit the Fairbanks Law Library, the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys Library, the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital Library, and a private mining library. The tour is free , but registration is limited. (T-3)
- Tour of University Libraries - Visit the University of Alaska Fairbanks Rasmuson Library, the Archives, and the BioSciences Library. The tour is free, but registration is limited. (T-4)
- Tour of School Libraries - Visit the libraries at North Pole Elementary School, Randy Smith Middle School, and West Valley High School. The tour is free, but registration is limited. (T-5)

- Campus Corner Mall Tour - University area; includes Gulliver's Bookstore and Cafe, Beaver Sports, gift and jewelry shops, the Athenian (Greek restaurant), College Town Pizzeria, and College Coffee House. A list of establishments and coupons will be included in the Registration Packet. $15 transportation fee. Registration is limited. (T-6)
- Downtown Fairbanks Tour - Many shopping and dining opportunities. A list of establishments and coupons will be included in the Registration Packet. $15 transportation fee. Registration is limited. (T-7)
CANCELLED Sunday Overnight Tour - tour begins at 2:30 PM on Sunday and returns Monday afternoon
- Chena Hot Springs Overnight Tour - Tour includes round-trip transportation to Chena Hot Springs (approximately 60 miles from Fairbanks), overnight room, and hot springs passes for two. Meals and other activities, such as visiting the Ice Hotel, are on your own . Fee for a room with two double beds - $175 single; $225 double. Fee for a room with two queen beds - $225 single; $275 double. Registration is limited to 20 people. (T-8)
