College Credit Through UAA:
Earn College Credits for Attending the AkLA Conference!
LS 590- Issues and Trends in Librarianship
-
Conference participants can earn one graduate level, continuing education credit for attending at least 15 hours of conference sessions.
~ This credit satisfies the Alaska Department of Education requirements for recency credits for certification renewal. It may not be used toward a graduate degree in Library Science.
-
Sign up and pay for the course when you register for the AkLA conference or during the first day of the conference.
-
The course fee is $100, if registered by March 5, 2004, and $125 if registering after March 5. Of that fee, $64 goes to the University of Alaska Anchorage and the remainder goes directly to the AkLA Scholarship Fund.
-
Coursework requires students to document and summarize sessions attended as well as to write a 3-5 page paper (due after conference). See the links below for more information and for examples of acceptable work submitted for each requirement.
