Image of Barbara Fister

Barbara Fister coordinates the library instruction program at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Her research interests include undergraduate research processes and the intersection of their reading, writing, and research practices. More recently, she has been investigating online reading communities, the rhetorical ways social issues are framed, the role research plays in creative work, and the role libraries play in nurturing the social aspects of learning. In addition to being a contributor to ACRLog (http://www.acrlblog.org), she is the author of book on third world women's literatures, contributes to Bedford/St. Martin's line of writing handbooks and, in her spare time, writes crime fiction. More information can be found at http://homepages.gac.edu/~fister/.
