Welcome to the Academic RT home page! Page Brannon, Head, Instruction & Reference Services, UAA and Jennifer Ward, Outreach Services Librarian, UAS are your co-chairs.

We have been discussing instruction and information literacy in our libraries, and the need to share more throughout the state on this topic. To this end, we have some plans for Kodiak and we are working on the listserv...

*Proposal for Kodiak conference*

We have submitted a program for Kodiak - please attend and participate if you can, we plan to discuss the state of instruction programs at UAA, UAF, and UAS. If you have a tutorial or instructional handouts - we'd love to see what you have done - we can share our efforts at the conference, and perhaps set up a place here on our site to share them also

Listserv

We are currently working on making our listserv functional. We hope to use this as a mechanism for discussions between academic libraries in Alaska on a regular basis. We will make an announcement on the AKLA general listserv as well as on our website when the listserv works!

Other Information About the Academic Roundtable:

Purpose

The purpose of the Roundtable is to:

1. Coordinates activities with other types of libraries.
2. Provides input into AkLA programs and consider sponsoring a program at the conference.
3. Elects a nominee to the Governor’s Advisory Council on Libraries.

Membership 

1. Membership on the Roundtable is open to any interested party. Roundtable members must be current members of AkLA.
2. The Roundtable currently does not charge dues.

Meetings

1. The major meeting of the Roundtable will be held in conjunction with the annual AkLA conference.
2. Officers consisting of a Roundtable Chair and a Chair Elect will be selected at this meeting.
