About Us
Authors to Alaska Roundtable (A2A) was established at the 1991 annual conference.
A2A had been a working group for several years sponsoring an Author’s Luncheon
at AkLA’a annual conferences. This annual event had proven to be so popular among
the conference attendees that it was unanimously decided that a roundtable was needed.
A2A is comprised of AkLA members interested in coordinating author visits within the
state. Originally coordinated with youth and school visits by authors in mind, it now
encompasses visits from both adult and children’s authors and illustrators.
Purpose:
- To act as a clearinghouse of information to AkLA members keeping them abreast of
authors coming to Alaska
- To publicize and coordinate author visits within the state, lending management
support to smaller communities
- To work with AkLA and AASL to coordinate annual conference program activities,
with the responsibly of organizing the annual author function.
Membership:
Membership in the roundtable is open to any current member of AkLA.
Meetings:
The roundtable meets yearly at the annual AKLA conference. Officers will be elected
at this meeting.
