March 2003 Minutes New officers for two years: Conference '04 & '05 Discussion was held on improving the number in attendance at our annual meeting. Ideas included offering prizes of books of the conference author, fudge, and other small incentives. This was done at the Children's Services Meeting with great success. It was decided to provide 2 mini grants of $200 each for the conference author to visit conference regional sites. Request for applications with guidelines will be sent via the listserve in the fall (September?). A2A board members will review and notify recipients by November prior to conference. It was decided that A2A will reimburse early bird registration for one A2A member to attend the annual American Library Association conference. Funding is for registration only, and does not include travel or other expenses incurred. The person selected will give A2A an email report on the conference, authors, and recommendations for author visits. A notice of intention will be sent out via the listserve in Sept. inviting members to apply. Notification will be made by January in time for early bird registration.
